Shaune Bagwell was born and raised in Houston, Texas. At the age of 13 she was spotted by a local model agent and shortly thereafter she signed a modeling contract. Soon she had contracts to go to Japan, Australia, New York, and Miami. Within a year, she had appeared on dozens of magazine covers, modeled for top designers and major corporations. Shaune decided to leave her hometown of Houston, Texas and packed up and moved to Los Angeles. On her first day there, she met John Paul De Joria of Paul Mitchell hair products who sent her to his friend, an agent at one of the top agencies in the world. She landed her first TV commercial for Blue Bell Ice Cream. Immediately after that, she was cast in her first feature film called, "A Delicate Matter" starring Paul Sorvino. Her Miller Lite poster led to her being cast in George Strait’s music video, "The Man In Love with You". Now Shaune has done several other roles. Most recently, she played Erica in "Triple Threat" with George Clooney, Adam Sandler, and Jason Priestly. In December of 1998, Shaune played Steven Cannell's secretary, Betty, in "The Contract". Shaune is continuing to audition for other roles and with the skyrocketing attention she's receiving recently, she will no doubt be in a theater near you soon...
Shaune Bagwell's story is not untypical of the workings of
many entertainment industry career stories. Shaune entered the world of modeling
as a very young girl from Houston, Texas, and from there has ascended through
campaigns for major advertisers, national print publications and into a career
in the highly competitive film and television industry. She is an individual in
every respect and it's in her attitude, humility and humour that her greatest
resources lie. In her own words... "I don't claim to be gifted or talented, brilliant
or funny. I have my own unique way of doing things that probably isn't the brightest,
but I have never claimed it to be so. I only know that it is my way. I dislike
authority, and I almost never take anyone's advice. I have an open disdain for
teachers and I despise classes. I realize that this manner of thought is not necessarily
wise, and it probably won't help me become rich or famous or a star, but I have
never claimed that it will." "I have always been true to my own persistence, and
I thank God for my lack of fear of doing things badly. Failure is one of the few
things I excel at. It is possible that this is my own breed of madness, I am uncertain.
I don't neglect my instincts, and they have led me through some obscure and frightening
places. I've learned to laugh at my own stupidity and foibles and the fact that
I am cognizant of them. I decline all suggestions that I alter my state of being
to fit someone else's idea of what an actor should be." "I love this absurd and
wonderful business and all it's idiosyncrasies. I refuse to call it a craft, however,
because for me it is not. For me, it's home. The only place I've ever truly belonged,
perhaps because I have never belonged to anyone or anything else..." Here is the
